My favorite ancestral photograph is of my maternal grandmother, Carol Vernice (VAN DUYN) WILSON, with a scarf on her head and holding her red patent leather purse, while overlooking the Colorado River.
Carol Vernice (VAN DUYN) WILSON:
- Born 8 February 1902, Shirley, Hancock County, Indiana.
- Married 8 February 1921, Hancock County, Indiana, to Roy U. WILSON.
- Widowed 12 December 1939.
- Died 1 June 1959, Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana.
UPDATE 11 June 2016: Thanks to the Indiana Birth, Marriage, and Death images recently added at Ancestry, I found that I have been spelling my grandmother Carol’s middle name incorrectly for a number of years (decades?). I have corrected it.
That is a great photo… and she looks so happy it made me smile!
